During the Opening Night Live event at Gamescom, Sega made an exciting announcement about their upcoming game, Sonic Superstars. The game is set to be released on October 17th later this year.

In the opening of the announcement trailer, we see Sonic and his companions engaging in a lively run. As the trailer progresses, we are treated to glimpses of the classic Sonic gameplay, with Sonic dashing through tracks and bouncing on balloons. The trailer also showcases the cooperative gameplay feature, illustrating how all the heroes collaboratively strive to complete the levels. However, if cooperative play is not your cup of tea, there is also a battle mode where you can compete against your friends. In this mode, you have the option to customize the appearance of every character.

Sonic Superstars will be released on October 17th! Prepare yourself for the excitement of playing with up to 4 players in local co-op, or you can also join the online gaming experience in the free-for-all Battle Mode! Stay tuned for more updates.

The upcoming Sonic game, as mentioned on the official Sonic website, will be set in the Northstar Islands. Players will have the opportunity to choose from Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy as playable characters. One exciting addition to the game is the introduction of new Emerald powers, which can be used for self-defense. These powers will enable players to perform various actions such as multiplying, swimming up waterfalls, and transforming into different forms. Notably, this will be the first Sonic game to offer a four-player co-op mode, with the convenience of a drop-in drop-out feature for local play.
