\n\u26a0\ufe0f Important:<\/strong> Anyone that knows your IP and port can join your server if no password is set! The password must be configured using the in-game Server Manager BEFORE using DSSettings.txt.\n<\/div>\n

Setting Up a Server Password<\/h2>\n

Currently, the only reliable way to set a join password is through the in-game Server Manager. This must be done before<\/strong> using DSSettings.txt for automatic loading.<\/p>\n

Step-by-Step Password Setup<\/h3>\n

  1. Ensure no DSSettings.txt exists<\/strong> – Delete or rename any existing DSSettings.txt file in your server directory<\/li>\n
  2. Start your server<\/strong> – Launch the dedicated server normally<\/li>\n
  3. Open StarRupture game client<\/strong> – Launch the game on your PC<\/li>\n
  4. Connect via Server Manager<\/strong> – From the main menu, click “Manage Server” and enter your server IP and port<\/li>\n
  5. Set Admin Password<\/strong> – The game will first ask you to configure an Admin Password<\/li>\n
  6. Set Join Password<\/strong> – Click the “Change Password” button in the Server Manager dialog<\/li>\n
  7. Enter the password<\/strong> – Enter the join password that players will use when connecting<\/li>\n
  8. Exit properly<\/strong> – Click Back or press ESC. Do NOT create or load a game at this point<\/li>\n
  9. Stop the server<\/strong> – Shut down the server cleanly<\/li>\n
  10. Configure DSSettings.txt<\/strong> – Now you can create DSSettings.txt for automatic save loading<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
