This guide covers safe zones vs hostile monuments, the green\/blue\/red keycard system, fuses and puzzles, the major monuments by tier, and where to farm scrap safely as a beginner.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safe zones vs hostile monuments<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Safe zones<\/strong> \u2014 Outpost and Bandit Camp \u2014 let you trade, buy from vending machines, recycle and research without being shot; turrets enforce the peace (don&#8217;t pull a weapon there). Every other monument is <strong>hostile<\/strong>: NPC scientists, radiation in places, and other players hunting the same loot.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The keycard system<\/h2>\n<p>Locked rooms need <strong>keycards<\/strong> in three tiers \u2014 <strong>green, blue and red<\/strong>. The system is laddered: you typically use a <strong>green card<\/strong> to reach a room containing a <strong>blue card<\/strong>, and a blue to reach a <strong>red<\/strong>. Many puzzles also require power \u2014 find a <strong>fuse<\/strong>, insert it, and flip switches in the right order to open the loot room. Carry spare green cards and a fuse whenever you run monuments.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Major monuments by tier<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Green-card \/ beginner-safe:<\/strong> Supermarket, Gas Station, Mining Outpost, Junkyard, Satellite Dish, Sewer Branch and the Dome \u2014 low radiation, easy scrap and components, on-site recyclers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Blue-card (mid):<\/strong> Water Treatment, Train Yard, Airfield and Power Plant \u2014 better loot, more scientists, light radiation gear recommended.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red-card (high):<\/strong> Launch Site and Military Tunnels \u2014 the toughest, with the best loot, elite scientists and heavy PvP. Go geared.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water \/ event:<\/strong> Small and Large Oil Rig (blue card, scientists and the patrol heli) and the roaming Cargo Ship.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Farming scrap &amp; components<\/h2>\n<p>Most monuments have <strong>recyclers<\/strong> \u2014 feed components in for scrap, the currency you spend at Outpost and on the tech tree.
