This guide covers how boss fights work, the support creatures every team needs, the best damage dealers, the ideal lineup for each boss, and the mistakes that wipe runs.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How ARK boss fights work<\/h2>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You summon a boss by placing its <strong>tribute items<\/strong> (trophies, artifacts and resources) at an Obelisk, a Supply Crate terminal, or a Tek Transmitter. Before you walk in, understand the rules of the arena:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Difficulty tiers<\/strong> \u2014 every boss has <strong>Gamma, Beta and Alpha<\/strong> versions. The ape throws rocks and can grab smaller creatures, so bring beefy, high-health tames and avoid lightweight dinos that get tossed around.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Dragon (the hardest Island boss)<\/h3>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dragon&#8217;s fire breath deals damage based on a <strong>percentage of your dino&#8217;s maximum health<\/strong> \u2014 so simply stacking HP is less effective than against other bosses. Use high-health <strong>Rexes with strong saddles<\/strong>, <strong>Deinonychus<\/strong> (which ignore some armour and deal great damage), and lean hard on your <strong>Daedon<\/strong> to out-heal the burn.
