Gateway<\/strong> is the current and only map of the Evrima branch \u2014 it replaced the older Isla Spiro map. It’s a large, varied map with distinct biomes, and learning where its key resources are is essential to staying alive.<\/p>\n\n

Water is scattered across Gateway in lakes, rivers and wallowing holes, so plan routes around them. For carnivores, AI creatures<\/strong> are a reliable food source \u2014 Vein Island<\/strong>, off the coast of the swamp, has grass, AI to hunt and a wallowing hole, making it a useful spot for both diets. Reaching these spawns can be risky, but they’re worth knowing.<\/p>\n\n

The danger of the map’s size<\/h2>\n

Gateway is big \u2014 and that’s exactly what kills inexperienced carnivores. Travelling the map without finding food means starvation, so don’t set off across it on an empty stomach. Learn the food and water near your spawn before going on long journeys, and use scent (hold Q) to find resources before you commit to a route.<\/p>\n\n
