This guide explains the DayZ Central Economy.<\/p>\n<h2>What the Central Loot Economy is<\/h2>\n<p>The CLE is DayZ&#8217;s server-side system that decides <strong>what loot spawns, where, how much, and how often<\/strong>. It doesn&#8217;t just fill the map to maximum \u2014 it spawns items <em>gradually<\/em> based on restock timers, player proximity and a global count of every item in the world.<\/p>\n<h2>How loot actually spawns<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Global limits<\/strong> \u2014 each item type has a maximum number allowed in the world at once.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Items in storage count<\/strong> \u2014 guns and gear stored in your base, containers or on players still count toward the global total, which can <strong>block new spawns<\/strong>. Hoarding affects everyone&#8217;s loot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Restock &amp; lifetime timers<\/strong> \u2014 items spawn on a timer and despawn after a lifetime if untouched.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Player proximity<\/strong> \u2014 loot won&#8217;t spawn right on top of a player; you have to leave and return.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The files that control it<\/h2>\n<p>On a server, the CLE is driven by XML files \u2014 chiefly <strong>types.xml<\/strong> (per-item nominal\/min counts, lifetime, restock, tiers), plus cfgspawnabletypes, cfgeconomycore and the area maps.
