Every key below is an Evrima default and is rebindable in <strong>Settings \u2192 Key Bindings<\/strong>, so if a control feels wrong, you can always remap it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One important note up front: this guide is for <strong>The Isle Evrima<\/strong>, the current active branch \u2014 not the deprecated Legacy build. A handful of older guides still list Legacy mappings (for example, scent on J), and those are wrong for Evrima. A separate dedicated &#8220;walk&#8221; bind and an Alt turn-in-place control are sometimes mentioned in community guides but are <em>unconfirmed<\/em> as standard Evrima defaults \u2014 don&#8217;t rely on them existing until you see them in your own key-bindings menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rest, sleep &#038; survival meters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your three core survival meters are hunger (food), hydration (thirst) and stamina. You eat to refill food, drink to refill thirst, and rest to recover stamina and health faster. Resting is one of the most important habits in Evrima because it speeds up almost every recovery process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Rest \/ lay down (faster stamina + HP regen):<\/strong> press <strong>H<\/strong>.<\/li><li><strong>Sleep \/ safe-load:<\/strong> hold <strong>H<\/strong>. Sleeping is also how you safely log out and let your dino &#8220;rest&#8221; in the world.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Resting also matters for injuries. The broadcast call (1) is loud and travels far, which is great for finding a group but also tells predators exactly where you are \u2014 use it deliberately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scent &#038; tracking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Scent is your survival radar. <strong>Hold Q<\/strong> to open a directional scent compass that points toward nearby food, water, tracks and blood. Holding longer increases the range, and the read resolves faster when you stop moving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Resolves in roughly <strong>10 seconds while stationary<\/strong>, or about <strong>3 seconds while walking<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Compass icons: a <strong>drumstick<\/strong> = fresh meat that is off your diet; a <strong>half-eaten drumstick<\/strong> = rotting flesh; a <strong>bone<\/strong> = skeletal remains; a <strong>leaf<\/strong> = non-preferred plants (herbivores); an <strong>egg<\/strong> = player-laid eggs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether predators can smell whole corpses versus only loose meat piles depends on the current build and is <em>unconfirmed<\/em>. The J key for scent that you may see in older guides is a Legacy mapping and does not apply to Evrima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Combat controls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Combat uses your two mouse buttons for standard attacks, with Alt-modified variants for heavier or alternate moves. A simple tap eats forage, drinks water, or interacts with the world. The mapping is: lungs feed Alpha (carbs), hearts feed Beta (proteins), and intestines feed Gamma (lipids). This is the same eat\/interact key doing double duty, so keep your stamina topped up if you&#8217;re being chased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pteranodon flight &#038; latch<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Pteranodon is the only flyer and has its own control layer on top of the basics. The night-vision key is most likely <strong>X<\/strong> \u2014 one source lists N, but since N is already the court key, that mapping is <em>partially unconfirmed<\/em>.
