Here&#8217;s an honest comparison to help you pick the one that fits how <em>you<\/em> want to play.<\/p>\n<h2>The short version<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WARDOGS<\/strong> is a fast, objective-driven <strong>100-player<\/strong> war shooter on Unreal Engine 5 with a fully destructible map \u2014 closer to an all-out-warfare team game.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Arma Reforger<\/strong> is a <strong>milsim sandbox<\/strong> from Bohemia Interactive \u2014 slower, more tactical, endlessly moddable, and playable on PC <em>and<\/em> console with crossplay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Neither is &#8220;better&#8221; \u2014 they&#8217;re different genres wearing similar camo.<\/p>\n<h2>Platforms &amp; crossplay<\/h2>\n<p>This is the first thing that&#8217;ll decide it for many players:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WARDOGS:<\/strong> PC-only at launch (Steam, released 10 September 2026). No console version or crossplay announced.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Arma Reforger:<\/strong> PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, <strong>with crossplay<\/strong> \u2014 one of the only true milsim experiences on console.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you and your friends are on console, Arma Reforger is the only one of the two you can play together today.<\/p>\n<h2>Scale &amp; pace<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>WARDOGS<\/strong> puts up to <strong>100 players across three teams<\/strong> onto a map built around rotating control zones, with vehicles, logistics and base building feeding a constant, fast objective fight. Its Unreal Engine 5 maps are fully destructible, so cover changes as the battle grinds on.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Arma Reforger<\/strong> runs up to <strong>128 players<\/strong> but plays far slower and more deliberately \u2014 its Conflict mode is a methodical push-and-hold across huge terrain, and a single firefight can last as long as a whole WARDOGS objective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Modding &amp; longevity<\/h2>\n<p>Arma&#8217;s biggest edge is its <strong>Workshop<\/strong>. Reforger runs on Bohemia&#8217;s Enfusion engine with first-class mod support, and the community builds everything from new factions to total-conversion game modes. That mod ecosystem is why Arma servers stay alive for years.
