It will also give you a green name in the in-game chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/rust.fandom.com\/wiki\/Server_Commands\">Rust Wiki<\/a> for all the commands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-admin-roles\">Admin roles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two admin roles that you can use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>OWNER &#8211; Has access to all server commands and can add or remove other admins.<\/li><li>MODERATOR &#8211; Has access to all server commands but can&#8217;t add or remove other admins.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-making-yourself-an-admin\">Making yourself an admin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First of all, you will need to get your steam64 id. You can find it <a href=\"https:\/\/steamid.io\/\">here<\/a>. Secondly, navigate to your server console and use the following command. Make sure your server is running.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&#8220;OWNERID STEAM64ID PLAYERNAME<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The &#8220;PLAYERNAME&#8221; doesn&#8217;t have to be the same as your in-game nickname. It&#8217;s just for you to know whose that 64ID is. Examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"377\" height=\"44\" src=\"https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-792\" srcset=\"https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-1.png 377w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-1-300x35.png 300w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-1-370x43.png 370w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-1-270x32.png 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 377px) 100vw, 377px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This command would give the player admin role on your Rust server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"432\" height=\"46\" src=\"https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-794\" srcset=\"https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-2.png 432w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-2-300x32.png 300w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-2-370x39.png 370w, https:\/\/xgamingserver.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/image-2-270x29.png 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This command would give the player moderator role on your Rust server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are already connected to the server, you will have to reconnect for the command to take effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hiding-the-admin-role\">Hiding the admin role<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you use your admin rights to give yourself any items, the server will display this information in the in-game chat and other players will be able to see it. Your nickname will also be in a green colour instead of a normal blue one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Players will usually leave your server if they see that you gave yourself any items as they will feel at a disadvantage. You don&#8217;t have to worry about this if you play just with your friends, but you should definitely hide your admin role if you have a public server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/umod.org\/plugins\/no-green\">No-Green<\/a> plugin to change your nickname colour back to blue.
