How to Change or Update Your ARK Server Version
How to update, downgrade, or pin your ARK: Survival Evolved server to a specific version.
Updating to Latest
- Stop your server
- In the XGamingServer Panel, on the Dashboard, click Reinstall Server
- Wait for the update
- Start your server
Version Mismatch
Client and server must be on the exact same version. If players can't connect after a game update:
- Update the server first (reinstall)
- Or have players wait until their Steam auto-update matches
Downgrading
ARK SE doesn't officially support version pinning via SteamCMD beta branches. If you need a specific version, contact support.
⚠️ Warning: Always back up
ShooterGame/Saved/before any version change. Saves are generally not backward compatible.
