How to Change Max Players on Your CS2 Server
How to adjust the player count limit on your Counter-Strike 2 dedicated server.
Setting Max Players
Via startup parameter:
-maxplayers 24Defaults by Mode
| Mode | Default Players |
|---|---|
| Competitive | 10 (5v5) |
| Wingman | 4 (2v2) |
| Casual | 20 (10v10) |
| Deathmatch | 20 |
Per-Mode Override
Edit gamemodes_server.txt in /game/csgo/ and change the "maxplayers" value under each mode section.
⚠️ Note: Actual capacity is also limited by map spawn points. A map with 5 T + 5 CT spawns = max 10 regardless of setting.
