How to Set a Password on Your Counter-Strike: Source Server

Password protect your CS:Source dedicated server so only invited players can join.

In the XGamingServer Panel, click Startup in the sidebar.

Find the Password field and enter your password.

Restart from Console to apply.

In Files, open cstrike/cfg/server.cfg.

sv_password "YourPassword"

For a public server, leave it empty:

sv_password ""

How Players Connect

Players connect with the password using the in-game console:

connect 123.45.67.89:27015; password "YourPassword"

Or via a clickable Steam link:

steam://connect/123.45.67.89:27015/YourPassword
