How to Update or Change Your Factorio Server Version
How to update your Factorio dedicated server and handle version mismatches.
Updating
- Stop your server
- In the XGamingServer Panel, on the Dashboard, click Reinstall Server
- Wait, then start
Version Matching
Server and all clients must be on the exact same version. Don't mix Stable and Experimental branches.
After Updating
- Check mod compatibility — some mods may break
- Saves from newer versions cannot be loaded on older versions
