How to Change Max Players on Your Half-Life 2: Deathmatch Server
Set the player limit on your Half-Life 2: Deathmatch dedicated server.
The default Half-Life 2: Deathmatch player limit is 16. The Source engine supports up to 32 players.
Open Startup
In the XGamingServer Panel, click Startup in the sidebar.
Set Max Players
Find the Max Players field and enter your desired count (1–32).
Restart
Restart from Console to apply.
Add to the startup command line:
-maxplayers 16Restart the server to apply.
Note: The actual player count is also limited by map spawn points. HL2:DM maps were designed for 8–16 players and many will cap below the configured
maxplayers.
