# Update Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server (/docs/runescape-dragonwilds/update-server)



Keeping your server updated is critical — players cannot join a server running a different version than their game client.

Updating on XGamingServer [#updating-on-xgamingserver]

    Stop Your Server [#1-stop-your-server]

    Access the [XGamingServer Panel](https://panel.xgamingserver.com) and **Stop** your server.

    Reinstall or Update [#2-reinstall-or-update]

    In the sidebar, go to `Settings` and click **Reinstall Server**. This will download the latest server files without affecting your save data or configuration.

    Start Your Server [#3-start-your-server]

    Start your server. It will now be running the latest version.

Server Version [#server-version]

The server version is displayed at the top of the server log file:

RSDragonwilds/Saved/Logs/RSDragonwilds.log
```

Client Version [#client-version]

Your game client version is shown in the **top-left corner** of the screen when you launch the game.

> ⚠️ **Important:** If these versions don't match, players will not be able to see or connect to your server. Every hotfix and update requires both client and server to be on the same version.

When to Update [#when-to-update]

Update your server immediately whenever:

* A new game update or hotfix is released
* Players report they can't find the server in the browser
* The server logs show a version mismatch warning
