RuneScape: Dragonwilds World Management Guide
Learn how to move worlds, create custom worlds, and manage save files on your RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server.
This guide covers everything about managing worlds on your RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server — from transferring local saves to creating new worlds with custom settings.
How Worlds Work on Dedicated Servers
When a RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server starts, it loads the latest .sav file from the savegames folder. If no save file exists, the server creates a new default Standard world using the values from your DedicatedServer.ini config (Server Name, Default World Name, etc.).
Save files are located at:
RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/Transfer a Local World to Your Server
Move an existing world from your PC to your dedicated server.
Stop Your Server
Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server.
Back Up Existing Server Saves
In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ and download any existing .sav files as a backup.
Clear the Savegames Folder
Delete all files from RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ on your server.
Find Your Local Save File
On your PC, open File Explorer and navigate to:
C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames\💡 Tip: Press
Windows Key + Rand paste the path above to open it quickly. ReplaceYOUR_USERNAMEwith your Windows username.
Upload Your Save
Upload your local .sav file to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ on your server using the panel's file manager.
Start Your Server
Start the server. It will load your uploaded world.
Create a New World with Custom Settings
If you want specific world settings (Standard, Custom, Creative, etc.), create the world locally first.
Create the World Locally
Launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds on your PC and create a new world with all the custom settings you want (Standard, Custom, or Creative mode).
Enter and Exit the World
Enter the world briefly, then exit. This ensures the save file is written.
Stop Your Server
Stop your server in the XGamingServer Panel.
Clear Server Savegames
Back up and then clear the RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ folder on your server.
Upload the Custom World
Copy the .sav file from your local save folder to the server's savegames folder.
Start Your Server
Start your server — it will load the world with your custom settings.
Starting a Completely Fresh World
To generate a brand new world:
- Stop your server
- Navigate to
RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/in the file manager - Download all existing
.savfiles as backups - Delete all files from the savegames folder
- Start the server — it will create a fresh world using your config values
