RuneScape: Dragonwilds World Management Guide

Learn how to move worlds, create custom worlds, and manage save files on your RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server.

This guide covers everything about managing worlds on your RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server — from transferring local saves to creating new worlds with custom settings.

How Worlds Work on Dedicated Servers

When a RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server starts, it loads the latest .sav file from the savegames folder. If no save file exists, the server creates a new default Standard world using the values from your DedicatedServer.ini config (Server Name, Default World Name, etc.).

Save files are located at:

RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/

Transfer a Local World to Your Server

Move an existing world from your PC to your dedicated server.

Stop Your Server

Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server.

Back Up Existing Server Saves

In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ and download any existing .sav files as a backup.

Clear the Savegames Folder

Delete all files from RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ on your server.

Find Your Local Save File

On your PC, open File Explorer and navigate to:

C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\RSDragonwilds\Saved\SaveGames\

💡 Tip: Press Windows Key + R and paste the path above to open it quickly. Replace YOUR_USERNAME with your Windows username.

Upload Your Save

Upload your local .sav file to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ on your server using the panel's file manager.

Start Your Server

Start the server. It will load your uploaded world.

Create a New World with Custom Settings

If you want specific world settings (Standard, Custom, Creative, etc.), create the world locally first.

Create the World Locally

Launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds on your PC and create a new world with all the custom settings you want (Standard, Custom, or Creative mode).

Enter and Exit the World

Enter the world briefly, then exit. This ensures the save file is written.

Stop Your Server

Stop your server in the XGamingServer Panel.

Clear Server Savegames

Back up and then clear the RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ folder on your server.

Upload the Custom World

Copy the .sav file from your local save folder to the server's savegames folder.

Start Your Server

Start your server — it will load the world with your custom settings.

Starting a Completely Fresh World

To generate a brand new world:

  1. Stop your server
  2. Navigate to RSDragonwilds/Saved/Savegames/ in the file manager
  3. Download all existing .sav files as backups
  4. Delete all files from the savegames folder
  5. Start the server — it will create a fresh world using your config values
