# How to Set a Password on Your Starrupture Server (/docs/starrupture/server-password)



Starrupture stores passwords as JSON files in the server directory. The **join password** controls who can connect, and the **management password** controls admin access.

Passwords are set via the in-game **Manage Server** menu (Main Menu → Manage Server → enter IP:port).
