How to Change Max Players on Your Team Fortress Classic Server

Set the player limit on your Team Fortress Classic dedicated server.

The default Team Fortress Classic player limit is 16. The GoldSrc engine supports up to 32 players.

In the XGamingServer Panel, click Startup in the sidebar.

Find the Max Players field and enter your desired count (1–32).

Restart from Console to apply.

Add to the startup command line:

+maxplayers 16

Restart the server to apply.

Note: Most TFC maps were designed for 8–16 players. Maps with limited spawn points will cap below the configured maxplayers.
