Changing Maps on a Team Fortress Classic Server
Upload custom maps or change the default map on your Team Fortress Classic dedicated server using the XGamingServer Panel.
This guide covers how to upload custom maps and change the default map on your Team Fortress Classic server.
Uploading a Custom Map
Maps are commonly found from public FastDL repositories or sites such as GameBanana. Your server must be restarted after uploading so our FastDL system can sync the new files to connecting players.
Stop Your Server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your TFC server.
Upload Your Map File
Using SFTP, upload your .bsp map file to the tfc/maps directory.
Start Your Server
Start your server to trigger the FastDL sync for the new map.
Changing the Default Map
Select Your Server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and select your Team Fortress Classic server.
Open Startup Settings
In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Set the Default Map
Find the Default Map setting and enter your desired map name.
Restart Your Server
Restart your server for the change to take effect.
💡 Tip: You can also change maps while your server is running by typing
map mapnameinto your server console.
