### What is RedM and how does it differ from Red Dead Online?

RedM is a community-developed modification framework for Red Dead Redemption 2 that enables custom multiplayer servers, built by the same team behind FiveM. Unlike Rockstar's official Red Dead Online, RedM gives server owners full control over scripting, rules, economy, and gameplay through frameworks like VORP and RedEM:RP.

### What RP frameworks does RedM support?

RedM supports popular roleplay frameworks including VORP (the most widely used), RedEM:RP, and custom-built frameworks. These provide inventory systems, jobs, economy management, character creation, and more. Server owners can also write custom scripts in Lua and JavaScript.

### How much RAM does a RedM server need?

A basic RedM server needs 4GB RAM minimum. For RP servers with VORP, custom scripts, and 32+ players, 8-16GB is recommended. Heavy servers with many custom resources, map edits, and 64+ players should use 16-24GB. Our plans range from 4GB to 24GB DDR5 RAM.

### What port does RedM use?

RedM servers use TCP and UDP port 30120 by default. On XGamingServer, all required ports are pre-configured and open. Players connect through the RedM client using your server IP and this port.

### Do I need a Cfx.re license key for RedM?

Yes. Every RedM server requires a free license key from the Cfx.re keymaster (keymaster.fivem.net). You generate the key, add it to your server.cfg as sv_licenseKey, and the server authenticates with the RedM master list.

### How many players can join a RedM server?

RedM servers support up to 32 players by default via sv_maxclients in server.cfg. With sufficient hardware, this can be increased to 64 or more. Our Pro plan and above are optimized for high player counts with dedicated CPU threads and 12-24GB RAM.
