Step-by-step server guides from our official documentation.
RedM is a community-developed modification framework for Red Dead Redemption 2 that enables custom multiplayer servers. Built by the same team behind FiveM, RedM allows server owners and developers to create unique gameplay experiences outside of Rockstar's official Red Dead Online. Using RedM, communities can build entirely custom worlds with their own rules, scripts, and content, transforming the Wild West setting of RDR2 into anything from immersive roleplay environments to competitive game modes. The framework provides powerful server-side scripting capabilities, resource management, and a growing ecosystem of community-made scripts and tools.
America, 1899. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde Gang are outlaws on the run. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal, and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. Winner of over 175 Game of the Year Awards and recipient of over 250 perfect scores, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of honor and loyalty at the dawn of the modern age. RedM takes this richly detailed open world and opens it up to community-driven multiplayer, allowing players to experience the frontier together in ways that go far beyond the official Red Dead Online offering.
The heart of the RedM community lies in roleplay. RedM RP servers let players assume the roles of cowboys, outlaws, sheriffs, shopkeepers, and other frontier characters in a persistent world. Popular frameworks like VORP and RedEM:RP provide the foundation for these servers, offering inventory systems, jobs, economy management, character creation, and much more. Beyond roleplay, RedM supports a wide variety of custom game modes and server configurations. Server owners have full control over scripting through Lua and JavaScript, enabling custom UI, missions, events, vehicle modifications, and unique gameplay mechanics. The modding community continues to grow, with new resources and scripts released regularly.
Running your own RedM dedicated server gives you complete control over your Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer experience. Set server passwords, configure roleplay frameworks, manage player whitelists, customize economy settings, and keep your server running 24/7 so your community can drop in anytime. With XGamingServer's AMD Ryzen 9 7950X hardware, your RedM server benefits from high single-thread performance, which directly translates to smoother gameplay, faster resource loading, and stable performance even with many players, scripts, and custom resources running simultaneously.
