Upload an Existing Save to Your Icarus Server

Transfer your local Icarus prospect save file to your dedicated server with this step-by-step upload and configuration guide.

This guide walks you through uploading a custom world file to your Icarus dedicated server.

📝 Note: If you have not already, you need to connect to your server and create a new prospect to generate the necessary files on your server.

Finding Your Save Files

Icarus worlds are not stored in the game files. They are located in a separate directory.

Open the Save Directory

Press Windows Key + R and enter:

%LocalAppData%/ICARUS/Saved/PlayerData

Locate Your Prospect

Open the folder named after your SteamID64, then enter Prospects.

Copy Your Save File

Copy your prospect.json file. For example, if your Prospect is named MySave, your save file will be MySave.json in the Prospects folder.

Uploading Your World

These steps use MySave.json as an example save file name.

Stop Your Server

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and stop your Icarus server.

Navigate to the Prospects Folder

Go to Files and navigate to /ICARUS/Saved/PlayerData/DedicatedServer/Prospects.

Upload Your Save

Upload your MySave.json save file to this directory.

Loading Your World

Stop Your Server

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and stop your Icarus server.

Edit ServerSettings.ini

Go to Files and navigate to /ICARUS/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/ServerSettings.ini. Edit LoadProspect= to the name of your save (e.g., LoadProspect=MySave).

Start Your Server

Start your server to load the uploaded world.
