Adjusting Difficulty in Return to Moria
Adjust difficulty presets or configure custom difficulty settings on your LotR Return to Moria dedicated server.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria includes multiple difficulty presets and custom options. This guide covers both.
📝 Note: You must create a new world to change difficulty settings. You can do so by changing
World NameinStartup.
Changing Difficulty Presets
Stop Your Server
Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server.
Set the Difficulty Preset
In the sidebar, go to Files and open MoriaServerConfig.ini. Under [World.Create], find Difficulty.Preset and enter one of the following presets: story, solo, normal, or hard.
Generate a New World
In the sidebar, go to Startup. Change World Name to generate a new world with the selected difficulty.
Start Your Server
Start your server.
Custom Difficulty Configuration
You can also configure individual difficulty settings for full control.
Stop Your Server
Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server.
Set Preset to Custom
In the sidebar, go to Files and open MoriaServerConfig.ini. Under [World.Create], edit Difficulty.Preset to custom.
Edit Custom Settings
Edit your desired custom difficulty settings and click save.
Generate a New World
In the sidebar, go to Startup. Change World Name to generate a new world.
Start Your Server
Start your server.

💡 Tip: Not all settings support every value. If you enter an unsupported value, it will automatically default to the nearest valid option.
