Creating a GSLT Token for Unturned
Learn how to create a Steam Game Server Login Token (GSLT) for your Unturned dedicated server, which is required to appear in the server list.
A GSLT (Game Server Login Token) is required by Valve for your Unturned server to be displayed in the server list. This guide shows you how to create one and add it to your server.
Creating and Adding a GSLT
Generate a Token
Go to the Steam Game Server Account Management page and log in with your Steam account.
Enter the App ID
Under App ID, enter 304930 for Unturned, then name the memo anything you want (e.g., "My Unturned Server").
Add the Token to Your Server
Visit the XGamingServer panel and select your Unturned server. In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Enter the Token
Find the Game Server Login Token field and paste your token.
Restart Your Server
Click Console in the sidebar, then restart your server.
If you see the error Cert request for invalid failed with reason code 5005. We're not logged into Steam, your token is invalid and may need to be regenerated.
📝 Note: Each Unturned server you run requires its own unique GSLT.
FAQ
What Are the Requirements for Making a GSLT?
Valve has guidelines on which accounts can create a Game Server Login Token:
- Your Steam account must not be currently community banned or locked.
- Your Steam account must not be limited.
- Your Steam account must have a qualifying registered phone.
- Your Steam account must own the game for which you are creating a game server account.
- Your Steam account may create up to 1000 game server accounts.
Can I Get a GSLT Ban?
In the past, Valve has token banned server owners that used plugins granting users special weapon skins, knives, or ranks. If Valve token bans you, you can no longer host servers from your account, and you will be temporarily banned from Competitive mode. We strongly suggest you view Valve's Terms of Service to see what is and is not allowed.
If your GSLT is banned, you will need to use another Steam account to generate tokens in the future.
