Rust Server Status Checker
Check any Rust server's live status. Player count, rank, wipe time, map size, seed, and BattleMetrics link — enter IP:port or hostname. Uses the official BattleMetrics API.
Check Any Rust Server
Queries the BattleMetrics public API. Default port 28015 if not specified.
How the Rust Server Status Checker Works
Enter any Rust server address (IP:port or hostname) and this tool queries the BattleMetrics public API for live status. Get online/offline state, current player count, max players, global rank, server region, map size, map seed, last wipe time, and next scheduled wipe.
Default port is 28015 if you don't specify one (that's the standard Rust server port). The tool also supports server addresses with custom query ports — just include them like 12.34.56.78:28017.
Uses: verify your own server is online before friends join, check if a community server is still populated, find a server's wipe schedule, or look up a server's current map seed to plan monument routes.
BattleMetrics is the industry standard for Rust server tracking — the same data powers server-browser sites, esports brackets, and anti-cheat telemetry. Results here are live (cached for 60 seconds to be nice to the API).
Rust Server Status Checker — FAQ
How do I check if a Rust server is online?
Paste the server's IP:port or hostname into the tool. It queries BattleMetrics and returns online/offline status, player count, rank, wipe info, and a direct BattleMetrics link. Default port is 28015 if not specified.
What's the default Rust server port?
28015 for the game itself, 28016 for the query/RCON port, 28017 for the server-side REST API (optional). Most public servers only expose 28015.
Why is my Rust server showing as offline?
Common causes: server hasn't finished starting (Rust servers take 5-15 minutes to load the map), port forwarding is blocked, or the query port (28016) is blocked while the game port is open. BattleMetrics uses the query port, so both must be reachable.
Can I check player names on a Rust server?
Yes, if the server has the public player list enabled. The BattleMetrics API returns session data — the tool shows live player count and names when available. Some servers hide player names for privacy.
