Satisfactory Production Calculator
Free Satisfactory 1.0 production planner. Pick any item and rate, get the complete factory: buildings needed, total power (MW), raw resource rates, and full dependency tree. All 152 items, 276 recipes including every alternate, 17 buildings. Swap alternates per item to minimize power or resource use.
Plan your entire Satisfactory factory, recipe by recipe
Satisfactory 1.0 has 152 items, 276 recipes (165 default + 111 alternates you unlock from hard drives), and 17 production buildings — spanning everything from Iron Ingot in a Smelter to Alien Power Matrix in a Quantum Encoder. Planning a full chain by hand is nightmare math — miss one multiplier and your whole factory backs up. This calculator solves the graph for you in real time.
Pick a target item (Reinforced Iron Plate, Modular Frame, Turbo Motor, Nuclear Fuel Rod, Ficsonium Fuel Rod, Alien Power Matrix — whatever you're building) and a rate in items per minute. The solver walks every recipe input recursively, computes how many of each building you need (fractionally — overclock or run at partial capacity), totals the power consumption, and lists every raw resource feed rate (Iron Ore, Copper Ore, Coal, Water, Crude Oil, Bauxite, Uranium, SAM, Nitrogen Gas…).
Every item with multiple recipes (default + alternates) gets a dropdown in the Alternate Recipes sidebar. Pick "Pure Iron Ingot" (13 ingots from 7 ore + 4 water in a Refinery) instead of the default Smelter recipe (1:1) and watch the raw ore requirements drop. Pick "Recycled Plastic / Recycled Rubber" to feed plastic and rubber into each other for nearly-free production from fuel. The calculator re-solves instantly when you swap.
Variable-power buildings (Particle Accelerator 250-1500 MW, Quantum Encoder 1000-2000 MW, Converter 250-500 MW) are handled correctly — each Satisfactory 1.0 recipe locks in its specific power draw within that range, and the calculator uses the exact per-recipe values from the game files rather than averaging.
This is the same data (items/recipes/buildings) used by greeny's SatisfactoryTools repo — the community-standard data source updated for Satisfactory 1.0. Ficsonium, Superposition Oscillator, Alien Power Matrix, Excited Photonic Matter, Biochemical Sculptor, Ballistic Warp Drive, Dark Matter Crystal, Reanimated SAM, SAM Fluctuator, all Converter ore-conversion recipes — all included.
Satisfactory Production Calculator — FAQ
What's the best way to plan a factory in Satisfactory?
Pick the final item (e.g. Reinforced Iron Plate or Modular Frame), decide your target rate (items/min), and let the calculator walk every intermediate recipe back to raw resources. Then swap alternates where they reduce your bottleneck — if you're short on Iron Ore, Pure Iron Ingot (13:7) is almost always better than the default Smelter recipe (1:1).
How do I handle alternate recipes?
Each item that has unlocked alternates appears in the sidebar with a dropdown. Pick any combination — the calculator re-solves immediately. Alternates are NOT always better: some trade fewer buildings for more power, or less resource use for more complex feed chains. Try a few and watch the total Power / Buildings / Raw Resource tiles update live.
Why are my building counts fractional?
Satisfactory lets you run a building at 0-250% speed with overclocking or underclocking. A count of 2.5 means "two buildings at 100% + one at 50%", or "three buildings at 83%", or "four buildings at 62.5%" — whatever fits your layout. Power scales non-linearly with overclocking (higher speed = exponentially more power), so for min-power designs you want integer counts at or below 100%.
What's the power draw of variable buildings?
Particle Accelerator, Quantum Encoder, and Converter all have per-recipe power ranges (Particle Accelerator: 250-1500 MW depending on what it's making). The calculator uses the exact per-recipe value from the Satisfactory 1.0 game files — not an average — so Turbo Motor on a Particle Accelerator is 250 MW and Ficsonium Fuel Rod on a Quantum Encoder is 1000 MW, not some middle number.
Does this include 1.0 content?
Yes — Satisfactory 1.0 (released September 2024) with everything: Ficsonium, Superposition Oscillator, Alien Power Matrix, Excited Photonic Matter, Biochemical Sculptor, Ballistic Warp Drive, Dark Matter Crystal, Reanimated SAM, SAM Fluctuator, Time Crystal, all Converter ore-conversion recipes, Neural-Quantum Processor, AI Expansion Server. Data is from greeny's SatisfactoryTools 1.0 dataset.
