Damage in Valheim is a mix of types: physical (slash / blunt / pierce, plus chop and pickaxe for trees and rocks) and elemental (fire / frost / lightning / poison / spirit). Each enemy resists some and is weak to others: Greydwarfs are very weak to fire, Trolls are weak to pierce but resist blunt, and Seekers resist all three physical types.
