How the Minecraft XP Calculator Works
Enter your current Minecraft level and how full your XP bar is (0–100%), then pick a target level. The calculator tells you exactly how many XP points you need, how many Bottles o' Enchanting to throw, and approximately how many mobs to kill.
Minecraft uses three different XP formulas depending on your level. Levels 0–15 cost 2L+7 XP each, levels 16–30 cost 5L-38, and levels 31+ cost 9L-158. That's why enchanting at level 30 feels expensive — each level from 16 onward costs dramatically more than the last.
Common targets: level 15 unlocks the first enchantment-table tier, level 17 is efficient for single-book anvil work, level 19 gets Unbreiking III on bows, level 27 often unlocks Mending villager trades, and level 30 gives you the best odds of top-tier enchants (Sharpness V, Protection IV, Efficiency V).

How much XP does a Bottle o' Enchanting give?
Each Bottle o' Enchanting gives 3 to 11 XP (average 7 XP). You can buy bottles from Cleric villagers in exchange for emeralds — they're one of the fastest ways to stockpile XP for enchanting.
What's the best level to enchant at?
Level 30 is the maximum enchanting table level and gives you the best odds for top-tier enchantments like Sharpness V, Protection IV, Efficiency V, and Unbreaking III. You need 15 bookshelves placed around the enchanting table to reach level 30.
How much XP does the Ender Dragon drop?
The Ender Dragon drops 12,000 XP on the first kill — enough to instantly go from level 0 to past level 68. Respawned dragons drop 500 XP each.
What's the fastest way to get XP in Minecraft?
Best XP farms: Enderman farm in the End (60-100+ levels/hour), Guardian farm in an ocean monument, Blaze farm in a Nether fortress, or a simple mob grinder. For single kills, killing an Ender Dragon gives the most per kill (12,000 first time).
