About Rust Wipes
- • Official servers wipe weekly (map) and monthly (map + blueprints).
- • Blueprint wipe = all learned blueprints reset. Happens on the first Thursday of every month at 20:00 UTC.
- • Map wipes only = world regenerates but you keep learned blueprints. Weekly on Thursday 20:00 UTC.
- • Community/modded servers vary widely: some wipe daily, weekly, monthly, or on custom schedules. Check each server's advertised schedule.
- • Force-wipe day (monthly BP wipe) is the biggest day — new content drops, population surges, many new bases started.
- • Thursday 2 PM EST / 20:00 UTC is the standard wipe time. Update reveal stream on Facepunch's Twitter/Discord usually comes at the same hour.
Rust Wipe Schedules Explained
Rust has two wipe types: force wipes (first Thursday of every month, 10am UTC, server-wide, blueprints + map reset) and server wipes (whenever the server admin schedules, map reset only, blueprints persist). Knowing the next force wipe matters because that's when the whole community starts fresh — biggest population, most competitive play, best time to jump in.
Most servers run one of three cycles: weekly (every Thursday, ~7 days), biweekly (every 2 Thursdays, ~14 days), or monthly (force wipe only). Vanilla servers usually do monthly with optional BP wipes. Modded x2/x5/x10 servers usually do weekly to keep the progression cycle tight.

When does Rust force wipe?
First Thursday of every month at ~10am UTC (around 2pm UTC depending on the official rollout). Force wipe resets all blueprints server-wide AND clears the map, on every Facepunch-official server and most community servers.
What's the difference between a force wipe and a BP wipe?
Force wipe = first Thursday of the month, mandatory, resets map + blueprints. BP wipe = server-admin discretion, usually coincides with force wipe but can happen mid-cycle on heavy modded servers. Most vanilla servers only BP-wipe on force-wipe day.
How do I know when my favorite server wipes?
Check the server's BattleMetrics page — the 'Recent wipes' section shows historical wipe frequency. Add the server to your wipe tracker and you'll see its next estimated wipe based on its pattern.
Can I customize wipe schedules on my own server?
