7 Days to Die Blood Moon Calculator
Calculate the exact day of your next blood moon horde in 7 Days to Die. Set the current game day, your server's blood moon frequency (default 7), and BloodMoonRange (the random ±days variation). The calculator shows next/last blood moon days, the next 5 horde dates, and an estimated horde size based on your party + per-player zombie settings. Source: 7daystodie.wiki.gg/Blood_Moon (April 2026).
Default Blood Moon Settings
# In serverconfig.xml: BloodMoonFrequency=7 # how often blood moon occurs in days BloodMoonRange=0 # random ±day variation (0 = exact) BloodMoonWarning=8 # how many in-game hours warning is given BloodMoonEnemyCount=8 # zombies spawned per player
A casual server might run frequency 14 / range 2 (every 2 weeks ±2 days) for less pressure. Hardcore players run frequency 5 / range 0 (every 5 days exactly) — fewer days to gather.
Surviving the Horde — Key Strategies
- Build a horde base with kill corridors. Use cobblestone or steel — stone shape blocks delay demolishers.
- Stock up on 9mm or 7.62mm — bullets are limited late game.
- Keep an upgrade-and-repair workstation in your horde base — concrete mix + 7mm + bandages.
- Don't fight on the ground past gamestage 100 — Cops will rush you with vomit.
- Have an emergency exit — a pole down 8 blocks lets you escape if your base falls.
