Change the Server Version on Your ARK Survival Evolved Server
Learn how to change the version of your ARK Survival Evolved dedicated server to a different beta branch such as pre-Aquatica.
If you want to play a different version of ARK Survival Evolved, such as the pre-Aquatica build, here is how to change your server version.
⚠️ Warning: Changing your server version risks corrupting saves and breaking mods. We recommend creating a backup before proceeding.
📝 Note: When changing server versions, you must also change your ARK game version to match. See our game version guide.
Changing the Server Version
Open the Startup Settings
Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server. In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Set the Beta Branch
Edit Steam Beta Branch with the version you want to use from the list below.
Reinstall the Server
Go to Dashboard and click Reinstall Server. Wait for the installation to finish.
Available Beta Branches
You can find the full list of available branches on SteamDB.
The latest version is public. Use preaquatica to downgrade to the last version before the Aquatica update.
