Switch Maps on Your BeamMP Server

Learn how to change to a default or custom map on your BeamMP dedicated server, including how to upload custom maps via SFTP.

This guide walks you through changing the server map on your BeamMP server, whether you want to use a default map or upload a custom one.

Using Default Maps

Open the Startup Settings

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and select your BeamMP server. In the sidebar, go to Startup.

Select Your Map

Find the Map setting and select the map you would like from the dropdown.

Restart Your Server

Restart your server to load the new map.

Uploading Custom Maps

Custom maps are normally provided in a .zip format. You will need to upload them via SFTP.

Upload the Map File

Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and select your BeamMP server. Access your server files using SFTP and upload your custom map .zip file to /Resources/Client/ so players can download the map.

Configure the Map Setting

After uploading, go to Startup in the XGamingServer Panel. Make sure Default Map is set to any default map such as Automation Test Track (not Disable Start Map).

Set the Custom Map File Name

Look for Custom Map Zip File Name and enter the name of the .zip file you just uploaded.

Restart Your Server

Restart your server to apply the changes. You should see Successfully loaded custom map from ZIP file in the server console.

📝 Note: If you are using a plugin such as BeamJoy to control map changes, you must set Default Map to Disable Start Map in Startup. Doing so means the panel will no longer control the map setting.
