Every DayZ Item, Every Spawn, Every Tier

DayZ's loot economy is governed by types.xml — a big config file with a nominal (target spawn count), min threshold, lifetime, and spawn-zone usage for every item. If you've ever wondered why you can't find an AK101 at a town but M4s cover the mountains, this database explains it. We pulled 887 unique items across all three official maps and merged them into one searchable view.

Each item card shows per-map stats: Nominal (target count on the map at any time), Min (below which spawns trigger), Lifetime (how long it lingers before despawning if untouched), Tier zones (T1 coast → T4 deep north / Tisy Military), and Usage Zones (where the item can spawn — Military, Police, Medic, Town, Village, Industrial, Farm, School, Office, Coast, Firefighter, Prison, Hunting, Contaminated Area, etc.).

Key findings: Military items cluster at T3/T4 zones (Tisy, NWAF, Kamensk). Police loadouts concentrate in Chernogorsk and Elektro PDs. Medical supplies spawn at hospitals (Cherno, Berezino, Gorka). Firefighter loot (axes, hazmat gear, saws) hits fire stations. Civilian clothes dominate Town/Village (~47% of items). Filter by usage to plan your loot run — don't waste a trip to Tisy if you need painkillers.

Data sourced from scalespeeder's community server XML files (DayZ 1.29 boosted loot templates). If you host your own DayZ server on XGamingServer, you can upload custom types.xml, cfgspawnabletypes, and events.xml to tune nominal spawn rates, add modded items, or create high-loot events — this database shows the vanilla-boosted baseline for reference.

DayZ Loot Database — FAQ

Where does the AK101 spawn in DayZ?

AK101 spawns at Military zones only (Tisy, NWAF, Kamensk). Nominal count 4 on Chernarus with a min threshold of 2 — so at most 4 AK101s exist on the server at any time, and if the count drops below 2 more will spawn. It's a T3-T4 tier weapon.

What's the difference between nominal, min, and restock?

Nominal is the TARGET count on the map. Min is the threshold below which spawn events trigger (don't drop below this). Restock is the cooldown between respawn waves. Lifetime is how long an item lingers untouched before despawning. Together these determine an item's rarity + availability.

What are the DayZ loot tier zones?

T1 (coast, starting villages) has basic civilian loot. T2 (inland towns) adds mid-tier weapons + ammo. T3 (hills, deeper inland) has assault rifles + military kit. T4 (Tisy, NWAF bunker, Kamensk) has top-tier weapons, attachments, and plate carriers. Tier zones are map-specific — filter by map to see accurate placements.

How does Sakhal loot differ from Chernarus?

Sakhal (DLC island) has a different loot ecology — focus on winter survival. Many items are shared with Chernarus (47 weapons) but Sakhal has unique items like heat packs, ice climbing gear, and cold-weather clothing not found on the other maps. This database covers all three maps side-by-side.

Can I customize DayZ loot spawns on my server?

Yes — every server hosts its own types.xml, cfgspawnabletypes.xml, and events.xml. Upload these via XGamingServer's DayZ hosting admin panel to tune spawn rates, add modded items, or create custom loot events. This database uses scalespeeder's community-standard boosted config as reference baseline.
