Running into issues with your StarRupture dedicated server? This troubleshooting guide covers the most common problems and their solutions.

Connection Issues

Players Can’t Find Server

• Verify port 27015/UDP is open for server queries
• Check that the server is fully started before players search
• Try connecting via direct IP instead of server browser
• Ensure the server is running the latest version

Players Can’t Connect

• Verify port 7777/UDP is open and forwarded
• Check firewall settings on the server
• Ensure players have the same game version
• Restart both client and server

Frequent Disconnections

• Check server and player internet stability
• Reduce the number of connected players
• Monitor server resource usage (CPU/RAM)
• Check for packet loss between server and players

Server Startup Issues

Server Crashes on Startup

• Check the server log files for error messages
• Verify all required files are present
• Ensure sufficient disk space and RAM
• Validate DSSettings.txt JSON syntax
• Try reinstalling the server files

Server Stuck Loading

• Large worlds may take several minutes to load
• Check for corrupted save files

DSSettings.txt Not Working
