How to Beat Kuldra, the God-Eater: Dragonwilds 1.0 Endgame Boss & Dragon Gear

Kuldra, the God-Eater is the new end-game boss added in the RuneScape: Dragonwilds 1.0 launch (September 15, 2026) — and she’s the reason you’ve been grinding gear all this time. Beating her is the climax of the 1.0 endgame, and it’s where the iconic red Dragon armour comes from. Here’s what the fight is, how to prepare for it, and what it drops.

Where to find Kuldra: the Scorned Wilderness

Kuldra lives in the Scorned Wilderness, the new end-game region added in 1.0. The region has two parts: The Hub, a build-friendly area, and the Raid area — a no-build zone “because of the big dragon,” as Jagex put it. That Raid area is where you take on Kuldra. Reaching and clearing it is tied to the new “Regicide” quest.

Prepare: max out your Power Level first

You don’t walk into Kuldra in Steel gear. The intended path is to gear up through the previous region — the Umbral Sands — and use its Nightmare Crucible to earn upgrade materials that push your favourite weapons up to max Power Level before facing Kuldra. Come in with:

  • Full Rune tier armour and weapons — the new top melee tier in 1.0 (Rune Platebody, Platelegs, Shield, plus Scimitar, Greatsword, Warhammer, Crossbow and more)
  • Or Adamant / Red Dragonhide / Infinity / Obsidian gear from the Umbral Sands, depending on your combat style
  • Max-Power-Level weapons upgraded at the Nightmare Crucible
  • Ancestral magic robes, staff or the new Wand if you run magic

Bring plenty of your best food, too — 1.0 reworked healing so you can tick-eat like the mainline RuneScape games, and stacking Sanguine Urn max-HP boosts helps a lot for an endgame fight.

New threats in the Scorned Wilderness

Kuldra isn’t the only new danger — 1.0 added a wave of new enemies you’ll meet on the way in, so expect company:

  • Black Dragons — the signature threat of the region
  • Black Knight Crusader and Blazing Black Knight
  • Stormpact Demon
  • Rotsworn Reanimator and Skeletal Blightshot
  • Goblin Thug, Goblin Poisonshot Archer, Garou Exile and Garou Lightning Berserker

What Kuldra drops: the Dragon gear

This is the payoff. Killing Kuldra guarantees a drop — the Dragon Kiteshield — followed by a Cape to wear with pride. (Note: unlike previous Dragon Generals, this shield is a Kiteshield, not a Dragonfire shield.)

Then the real grind begins: repeat successful runs into the Scorned Wilderness earn the full set of iconic red Dragon armour:

  • Dragon Full Helm, Dragon Med Helm
  • Dragon Platebody, Dragon Platelegs
  • Dragon Shield
  • Dragon Scimitar — “the Dragon Scimmy is real, chat” — and the Dragon Crossbow

There’s also Kuldra’s Wrath among the new 1.0 items to chase.

Take Kuldra down with your group — on a crossplay server

The Raid area is built for a group, and 1.0 added crossplay dedicated servers so your whole crew can be there — from PC, PS5, Xbox or Switch 2 — in one persistent world. A hosted server keeps that world online 24/7 so you can chip away at gearing up and organise the Kuldra run on everyone’s schedule, without needing the host to be online. Spin one up on XGamingServer RuneScape: Dragonwilds hosting, enable crossplay, share the invite code, and gather your group for the God-Eater.
