StarRupture Beginner's Guide to Dedicated Servers

StarRupture is a first-person open world survival game with base building and factory automation set on an alien planet. Developed by Creepy Jar (the studio behind Green Hell), it launched into Early Access in January 2026 and supports co-op multiplayer with up to 4 players on a dedicated server.
This guide covers everything you need to know to get started with your XGamingServer StarRupture dedicated server.
What You Get With a Dedicated Server
A dedicated server runs 24/7 independently of any player. This means:
- Always online — Friends can join and play even when you're offline
- Better performance — The server handles all the heavy lifting, reducing lag
- Full control — You manage the settings, saves, and who can join
- Automatic backups — XGamingServer creates regular backups of your world
Getting Started
Access Your Server Panel
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and select your StarRupture server.
Start Your Server
Click Start on the Dashboard. The server will download the latest version and generate a new world on first boot. This may take a few minutes.
Set a Password
In the sidebar, go to Startup → Basic and set a Server Password to keep your server private. See our password guide for details.
Share Your IP Address
Copy the server IP address from the panel sidebar and share it with your friends.
Connect and Play
Open StarRupture, select Join Game → Dedicated Server, enter the IP and password, and click Connect. See our connection guide for step-by-step instructions.
