How To Upload a Save To Your StarRupture Server

Step-by-step guide on how to upload your local save file to your StarRupture dedicated server.

This guide walks you through uploading an existing world save from your local game to your StarRupture server.

Finding Your Local Save File

Open Your Steam Library

Right-click StarRupture in your Steam library and select Manage → Browse Local Files.

Navigate to Your Save Files

Go back to the Steam folder and navigate to:

Steam/userdata/<Your Steam ID>/1631270/remote/Saved/SaveGames/

Each save folder contains a .met and .sav file.

Copy Your Save Folder

Copy the entire save folder you want to upload to your server.

Uploading to Your Server

Stop Your Server

Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your StarRupture server.

Navigate to the Save Directory

In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to /StarRupture/Saved/SaveGames/. Create these folders if they don't already exist.

Upload Your Save Folder

Upload your copied save folder into the SaveGames directory.

Rename the Save Files

Inside your uploaded folder, rename the files to:

  • YourWorldSave.metAutoSave0.met
  • YourWorldSave.savAutoSave0.sav

Update Startup Settings

In the sidebar, go to Startup. Set the Session Name to match your uploaded folder name. Make sure Load Saved Game is enabled.

Start Your Server

Start your server. It will load your uploaded world save.

⚠️ Warning: Make sure Session Name matches the folder name exactly, or the server won't find your save file.
