Switching Between Vanilla and tModLoader on Terraria
Switch between Vanilla Terraria and tModLoader server versions on your dedicated server for modded gameplay.
This guide will help you switch between different versions of Terraria on your Terraria server, including switching to tModLoader for modded gameplay.
Switching Server Versions
Stop Your Server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your Terraria server.
Select Your Server Version
In the sidebar, go to Startup. Under Version, find Server Type and select your desired version:
- Vanilla - Standard Terraria
- tModLoader - Required for mods
Start Your Server
Go to Console and Start your server.
📝 Note: When switching server versions, your existing server will be archived to a folder named Backups.
