Mods transform Arma Reforger — new factions, weapons, vehicles, maps and whole game modes. And thanks to the Enfusion engine, modding is built in and cross-platform. This guide covers how to install mods on Arma Reforger, on PC, console and your server.
Where mods come from: the Workshop
All Arma Reforger mods live in the official Workshop, browsable in-game or on the Arma Platform website. You subscribe/download from there — no third-party sites needed.
Installing mods on PC
Open the in-game Workshop menu, find a mod and download it. Content is stored in Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\addons. Enable it and you’re set for single-player; for multiplayer you join servers running the same mods (they auto-download).
Installing mods on console
Console modding works through the in-game Content Workshop. Xbox players get up to 50 GB of mod storage, and since Update 1.4 (May 2025) PlayStation 5 can also join modded servers (PS5 was excluded at launch). Some mod types may still be limited on console, so check a mod lists your platform.
Adding mods to your server
This is the important one for communities. To run mods on a dedicated Arma Reforger server:
- Find each mod on the Workshop and note its ModID, Name and Version.
- Put your server in Advanced Mode (you must stay in Advanced Mode or your changes revert).
- Add the mods to the server’s
config.jsonmod list. - Restart — the server downloads all mods automatically; no FTP upload needed.
