How to Upload Your Existing VEIN Server Save
Step-by-step guide on how to upload an existing save file to your VEIN dedicated server.
This guide walks you through uploading an existing world save to your VEIN dedicated server. Whether you are migrating from another hosting provider or transferring a local single-player save, the process involves uploading your save file and optionally your configuration to the correct server directories.

⚠️ Warning: Uploading a save file will overwrite any existing progress on the server. Make sure to back up your current save first if you want to keep it.
Transfer from Another VEIN Server Provider
If you already have a VEIN server with another provider, follow these steps to migrate your save and configuration to XGamingServer.
Download Files from Your Previous Provider
On your previous server, download the following files:
Vein/Saved/SaveGames/Server.vns(your world save)Vein/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/Engine.ini(your custom gameplay settings)
Stop Your XGamingServer
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your VEIN server.
Upload the Save File
In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to Vein/Saved/SaveGames and upload your Server.vns save file, replacing the existing file.
Upload the Configuration
Navigate to Vein/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ and upload your Engine.ini file, replacing the existing file.
Start Your Server
Start your server. It will load with your migrated save and settings.
Transfer from a Local PC
If you have been playing VEIN locally and want to move your save to a dedicated server:
Locate Your Local Save
Open your Steam games library, right-click VEIN, and select Manage then Browse Local Files. Navigate to Vein/Saved/SaveGames and copy your save file (for example, YourSave.vns) to a safe location.
📝 Note: The default Steam location is typically
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vein\Vein\Saved\SaveGames.
Stop Your XGamingServer
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your VEIN server.
Delete the Existing Save
In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to Vein/Saved/SaveGames and delete the existing Server.vns file.
Upload Your Save
Upload your save file to the Vein/Saved/SaveGames directory.
Rename the File
Rename your uploaded save file to Server.vns.
⚠️ Warning: The save file must be named exactly
Server.vnsfor the server to load it. Double-check the filename after renaming.
Start Your Server
Start your VEIN server. It will now load your uploaded save.
