Adding Admins to Your RuneScape: Dragonwilds Server
Set up admin access on your RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server using the admin password.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds uses an admin password system for granting elevated permissions on dedicated servers.
How Admin Access Works
There are three user roles on a dedicated server:
| Role | How to Get It | Permissions |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Player ID matches the Owner ID in config | Ban and unban anyone (online or offline) |
| Admin | Enters the admin password in Server Management | Ban online regular users (cannot unban) |
| Regular User | Default role for all other players | Standard gameplay only |
Setting the Admin Password
Stop Your Server
Access the XGamingServer Panel and Stop your server.
Edit the Config File
In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to:
RSDragonwilds/Saved/Config/Linux/DedicatedServer.iniSet the Admin Password
Find the AdminPassword field and set a secure password. Share this only with players you trust.
Start Your Server
Start your server to apply the change.
Using Admin Access In-Game
- While in-game on the server, open the Pause Menu
- Go to Settings
- Open the Server Management tab
- Enter the Admin Password
- You now have admin access until the password is changed
Viewing Who Has Admin Access
You can see a list of players who have successfully used the admin password by checking:

Revoking Admin Access
Change the AdminPassword to a new value and restart the server. All previous admins will need to re-enter the new password.
