How To Install Mods On Your V Rising Server
Learn how to install mods and plugins on your V Rising dedicated server.
V Rising supports server-side mods and plugins through BepInEx, a popular modding framework. This guide walks you through enabling BepInEx on your server and then installing individual plugins from Thunderstore.
Installing BepInEx
BepInEx is the mod loader that all V Rising plugins depend on. You must enable it before installing any mods.
Open the Startup page
Access the XGamingServer Panel and select your V Rising server. In the sidebar, click Startup.
Enable BepInEx
Under the Modding section, enable the Enable Modding (BepInEx) setting.
Restart your server
Restart your server to install BepInEx. It will be automatically kept up to date on every server restart.
Installing Plugins
Once BepInEx is running, you can add plugins to customize your server.
Stop your server
Access the XGamingServer Panel and stop your V Rising server.
Download a plugin
Browse Thunderstore for the plugin you want, download it, and extract the archive on your PC.
Upload the plugin
Connect to your server using SFTP (or use the Files page in the panel) and navigate to the BepInEx/plugins folder. Upload the extracted plugin folder there.
Start your server
Start your server. The plugin will be loaded automatically by BepInEx.
📝 Note: Some plugins require additional dependencies or configuration. Always check the plugin's Thunderstore page for installation instructions and required dependencies.
💡 Tip: You can verify that a plugin loaded successfully by checking the log file at
BepInEx/Output.logthrough the Files page.
📝 Note: Some plugins require you to be a server admin to use their commands. See the Adding Admins guide if you need to set that up.
