Setting Up a Player Whitelist in Vintage Story
Learn how to add and remove players from the whitelist on your Vintage Story dedicated server to control who can join.
Adding a whitelist is the easiest way to make your server private. Once enabled, only whitelisted players can join your Vintage Story server.
📝 Note: As of version 1.20, Vintage Story servers are invite-only (whitelisted) by default and do not appear in the public server list. To make your server public, you can enable server advertising with
/serverconfig advertise onand disable whitelist mode with/serverconfig whitelistmode off.
Adding Players to the Whitelist
Open the Server Console
Log in to the XGamingServer panel and select your Vintage Story server. In the sidebar, click Console.
Add a Player
Type /player playername whitelist on and press Enter, replacing playername with the player's in-game name.
Removing Players from the Whitelist
Open the Server Console
Log in to the XGamingServer panel and select your Vintage Story server. In the sidebar, click Console.
Remove a Player
Type /player playername whitelist off and press Enter, replacing playername with the player's in-game name.
