Updating Vintage Story to the Latest Version
Learn how to update your Vintage Story dedicated server to the latest version through a server reinstallation process.
Unlike many other games, Vintage Story servers require a server reinstallation to update to newer versions. This process will not remove your world, mods, or your serverconfig.json file.
Updating Your Server
Stop Your Server
Access the XGamingServer panel and Stop your server.
Verify Your Startup Settings
In the sidebar, go to Startup. Find the Release branch setting and ensure it is set to stable. Find the Release version setting and ensure it is set to latest.
Reinstall Your Server
In the sidebar, go to Dashboard and click Reinstall Server.
Your server will now be updated to the latest stable version of Vintage Story.
