Uploading a World Save to Your Vintage Story Server

Step-by-step guide on how to upload your custom world file to your Vintage Story dedicated server from single-player or another server.

This guide walks you through uploading a custom world file to your Vintage Story server. These steps work for both single-player and existing multiplayer world transfers.

Finding Your Save Files

Open Vintage Story

Launch Vintage Story on your PC.

Locate Your Save Folder

Click Single-player, then select Open Saves Folder.

Copy Your Save

Create a copy of the .vcdbs save file you wish to upload.

Uploading Your World

Stop Your Server

Log in to the XGamingServer panel and Stop your Vintage Story server.

Navigate to the Saves Folder

In the sidebar, go to Files. Navigate to data/Saves/ and delete any existing files.

Upload Your Save File

Upload your .vcdbs save file to the data/Saves/ folder.

Enabling Your World

Open the Server Config

In Files, enter the data folder and open serverconfig.json.

Update the Save File Location

Edit the SaveFileLocation value to match the name of your uploaded save file. For example:

Save and Start

Save your changes and then start your server.
