Your castle is your heart in V Rising — literally. It’s your base, your crafting hub, your blood storage and your defence, all powered by the Castle Heart. This guide covers castle building in V Rising.
The Castle Heart
Everything starts with the Castle Heart. Place it to claim territory and power your castle; it runs on blood essence (fuel) which you keep topped up. The Heart defines your build area, protects your structures from decay, and is the thing raiders target — losing it loses your castle.
What to build
- Floors and walls — claim and enclose your space; higher tiers are stronger and unlock with progression.
- Crafting stations — a furnace, sawmill, blood press, tailoring, and the weapon/armor benches.
- Coffins — for your character respawn and for servants.
- Storage — chests for your materials and gear.
- Blood essence & servants — keep the Heart fuelled and put servants to work.
Roof up — sunlight kills
You’re a vampire: sunlight is lethal. Make sure your castle is fully roofed so you can move around safely during the day. An exposed castle is a death trap.
Where to build
Pick a spot with resources nearby, defensible terrain, and room to expand — near the centre of an area you’re working, but not so exposed that you’re easy to raid. See our best base locations guide.
Build freely on your own server
Castle building unlocks as you beat V Blood bosses. On your own V Rising server you control build costs, decay and raiding, so the castle you build with your clan lasts.
