Palworld 1.0 is live. Released on July 10, 2026 as update 1.100.427, the full 1.0 launch takes Palworld out of Early Access and is so large that Pocketpair themselves describe it as essentially a new game — roughly 27 pages of patch notes. It’s a free update for everyone who already owns the game. This is a complete, organised breakdown of everything that changed, based on the official Pocketpair patch notes.
Palworld 1.0 headline changes
- 72 new Pals — 47 brand-new Pals plus 25 variants, bringing the roster to 287.
- Two new regions — the floating Sunreach islands and the endgame World Tree.
- Two new mechanics — Mutations (breeding) and Awakening (Radiant Gems).
- Level cap raised from 65 to 80.
- A completely reworked main storyline, revamped Partner Skills across 200+ Pals, a wave-based raid system, and the Wing Pack glider.
New areas and a revamped world
- Sunreach — a set of islands floating above Palpagos, kept aloft by the power of Paldium, home to a unique civilization, new Pals, new tower bosses, and Soralite ore that can only be mined here.
- The World Tree — the towering endgame region at the heart of Palworld’s story, where you face your greatest challenge yet, gather Radiant Gems and Paloxite ore, and find the Ancient Civilization Relic.
- 7 new small islands across three biomes (volcano, desert, ruins), plus Ancient Ruins with exploration minigames that reward schematics.
- Watchtowers added as new fast-travel points, and new settlements at the Bamboo Groves, Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima and Sunreach with new NPCs and sub-missions.
- Wildlife Sanctuary overhaul — the three sanctuaries are now protected conservation areas with unique scenery, exclusive Pals, rare materials, powerful bosses and patrolling defense drones you can sneak past or fight.
- Rebalanced Pal habitats so spawns feel more natural per region.
New Pals, Mutations and Awakening
- 72 new Pals (47 new + 25 variants) with unique animations, plus over 100 new motions added to existing Pals — swimming, sleeping beside you, idle behaviours and more.

- Mutations — breeding now has a low chance to hatch a Pal stronger than the normal result, with higher stats and a unique passive skill. New cakes (Mushroom, Vegetable, Deluxe Vegetable, Special) influence mutations, egg count and passive inheritance. Full Mutations guide →
- Major Partner Skill rework — new Partner Skills added and 200+ Pals reworked; identical Pals no longer stack the same Partner Skill, and many skills work the moment you catch the Pal (no Pal Gear required).
- New passive skills, including a powerful new World Tree Passive Skills category that comes with a cost.
- Work Suitability expanded to 10 levels and rebalanced across all Pals; ranking a Pal up now raises its work levels.
- Lifmunk Effigies reworked into “Pal Effigy” — collect effigies of many different Pals to boost your stats (existing Lifmunk Effigies carry over).
- Capture Bonus now completes in 5 captures instead of 12, and max rank needs 48 Pals instead of 116.
Combat overhaul
- Reworked player motions — the dodge while attacking or aiming is now a dash, you can attack while dashing, and reloading continues through dodges for faster-paced combat.
- Active skills rebalanced across nearly all Pals; Holy Burst’s hit count is capped and other elements’ top skills raised to match, so party Pals can now out-damage the player.
- Tower Bosses improved — new visual designs, new motions and skills, and the time limit cut from 10 minutes to 5. A new Arena rank is added (matches shortened to 2 minutes).
- New active skills for both new and existing Pals (e.g. Fuddler’s burrow attack, Broncherry Aqua’s water tackle), plus a “Attack that enemy!” command via mouse wheel / right stick.
New equipment and items
- Wing Pack — a new glider that consumes Wing Cells for free flight without a Pal, keeping a full five-Pal combat team ready.
- Plasma Multicutter — a new gathering tool usable while riding.
- 13 new weapons including the Mechanical Bow, Combat SMG, Prototype Shotgun, Heavy Assault Rifle, Tactical Grenade Launcher, Laser Sword, Beam Scatter, Drone Launcher, Plasma Rifle and Beam Launcher (many crafted from new Soralite Ingots). An Extra Weapon Holster lets you equip up to 6 weapons.
- Ancient Series armor and shield, plus 44 new accessories now crafted from schematics (the “+1/+2” system is gone; base accessories buffed to the old “+2”).
- New ores Soralite (Sunreach only) and Paloxite (World Tree only), two new higher-tier Pal Spheres, and a cheaper Pal Sphere recipe (now just 1 Paldium Fragment).
Base building and a new raid system
- Aquatic Construction lets you build along shorelines and at sea, alongside dozens of new parts (Faux Greenery, Ancient Civilization structures, inverted roof variants and more).
- You can now fast travel directly from the map while in base range, and new facilities like the Clinic, Ancient Material Synthesizer and High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor expand automation.
- The Repair Kit is gone — Handiwork Pals repair structures for free — and up to 18 specialized visiting merchants can now appear.
- Base raids are now wave-based: enemies attack in successive waves, defense structures no longer consume ammo, raid level scales to your Work Pals, and a negotiator can cancel a raid for gold.
Multiplayer and dedicated server changes
This is the section that matters most if you run a server — and note one thing up front: the widely-rumoured server clustering feature did not ship in 1.0. A single dedicated server still hosts one world. What did change:
- In-game voice chat — available when enabled in a dedicated server’s world settings.
- Guild overhaul — multiple roles with assignable permissions, login/logout notifications, guild markers, and structures that can restrict access to specific roles.
- Discord account linking (Steam and Mac) to invite friends more easily.
- Dedicated server optimizations — improved performance with many players, reduced save-corruption risk, better server list UI, an unstable-connection icon, and a server-address hiding mode for streamers.
- Default dedicated-server world settings now match single-player Normal difficulty, and main missions can progress in PvP mode.
- Numerous dedicated-server crash and sync fixes (Moon Lord, Hartalis, ammo sync, login damage and more).

- Balance: Pal capture rates raised, lower-level Pals gain XP faster, treasure-chest gold up 2–4×, breeding combinations reviewed, and expedition/fishing content extended into Sunreach and the World Tree.
- Performance: optimized dedicated-server processing, open-world objects, memory usage and data searches to reduce stutter.
