Palworld 1.0 Raids: New Wave-Based Base Defense Guide

Palworld 1.0 completely overhauled base raids into a wave-based system. Enemies now attack in successive waves, you get rewards for clearing all of them, and the placement of your defense structures and Work Pals matters more than ever. Here’s how the new base defense works, from the 1.0 patch notes.

The New Wave-Based Raid System

  • Waves, not one attack. Raiders now come in successive waves, and you earn rewards once you defeat them all.
  • Defense structures no longer consume ammo — they just run, so building a real defense line is worth it.
  • Raid level scales to your base. The level of raiding enemies automatically scales to the level of the Work Pals assigned to that base.
  • Enemies vary by location. Who raids you depends on the environment — for example the Free Pal Alliance attacks at Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction raids Mount Obsidian.

New Raid Mechanics to Know

  • Gold farms attract raids. If a Gold Coin Assembly Line is present at your base, a dedicated raid event now occurs — so defend your economy.
  • You can pay to skip a raid. A negotiator now visits your base; paying gold coins can cancel an upcoming raid, so you choose whether to fight or buy your way out.
  • Fixes: raiders that used to get stuck now behave correctly, and several raid-area bugs were resolved.

How to Defend Your Base

  • Build layered defenses. Since structures no longer burn ammo, walls, turrets and traps are always active — lay them out to funnel waves.
  • Assign strong Work Pals — but remember their level scales the raid difficulty, so balance power with what you can defend.
  • Keep combat Pals ready from our Pal tier list to clear waves fast.
  • Configure raids on your server. Tune base and raid-related settings with our server settings generator.

Defending a big base against waves is far more fun co-op — run yours 24/7 on a Palworld server.

FAQ

How do base raids work in Palworld 1.0?

Raids are now wave-based: enemies attack in successive waves and you get rewards for clearing them all. Defense structures no longer use ammo, and raid difficulty scales to your assigned Work Pals’ level.

Can you stop a raid in Palworld 1.0?

Yes — a negotiator visits your base and, for a payment in gold coins, can cancel an upcoming raid. So you can either fight the waves or pay to avoid them.
