How To Change Your Project Zomboid Server Name

Learn how to change your server hostname on your Project Zomboid dedicated server.

Your server name (also called the hostname) is what players see when browsing for servers in the Project Zomboid server list. Choosing a clear, recognizable name makes it easier for your community to find and identify your server.

Changing Your Server Name

Stop Your Server

Open Startup Settings

In the sidebar, go to Startup.

Update the Server Name

Find the Server Name setting and enter your desired server name.

Start Your Server

Start your server to apply the new name.

💡 Tip: Keep your server name concise and memorable. Avoid special characters that may not display correctly in the server browser.
