How To Reset The World On Your Project Zomboid Server
Learn how to reset the world on your Project Zomboid dedicated server.
Resetting the world wipes your server's map data and save progress while keeping your server configuration, mods, and settings intact. This is useful when you want a fresh start without having to reconfigure everything from scratch.
📝 Note: This only deletes the world save. Your server settings in
pzserver.ini, sandbox settings inpzserver_SandboxVars.lua, and installed mods will remain unchanged.
Resetting Your World
Stop Your Server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and stop your server.
Open the Files Page
In the sidebar, go to Files.
Navigate to the Save Folder
Navigate to .cache/Saves/Multiplayer.
Delete the Save Folder
Delete the pzserver folder. This contains all of your world data including player-built structures, loot state, and zombie positions.
Start Your Server
Start your server. A brand new world will be generated automatically on startup.
💡 Tip: If you want to keep a copy of your old world before deleting it, create a backup through the
Backupspage first. You can restore it later if you change your mind.
