How To Set Max Players On Your Project Zomboid Server
Learn how to set max players on your Project Zomboid dedicated server.
The max players setting controls how many people can be connected to your server at the same time. Adjusting this is quick and straightforward through the XGamingServer panel.
📝 Note: Higher player counts require more server resources. If you experience lag or crashes after increasing max players, you may need to upgrade your server plan.
Setting Max Players
Stop Your Server
Log in to the XGamingServer Panel and stop your server.
Open Startup Settings
In the sidebar, go to Startup.
Change Max Players
Find the Max Players setting and enter your desired value.
Start Your Server
Start your server to apply the change.
💡 Tip: Start with a conservative player limit and increase it gradually as you monitor server performance. More players mean more zombie spawns, more base-building activity, and higher RAM usage.
